Faces Under Fire
The film tells the story of Youssef, a young man from Gaza who works as a clown for children during the ongoing genocide. Youssef is committed to bringing smiles to children's faces despite the daily difficulties he faces in obtaining food and water and enduring the harsh conditions of the tent in which he lives, surrounded by the constant sound of gunfire. After his wife and son are evacuated to Egypt because of the war, Youssef faces loneliness and longing for his son, whom he sees in the faces of other children, compounding his emotional pain. As the events of the film unfold, the inner conflict of those living in Gaza becomes apparent.
