Trim Lamba
Trim Lamba is a writer-director working in narrative based filmmaking. His first short ‘CRACKED SCREEN’ - made using Snapchat- released in 2017 to multiple prizes and worldwide recognition including longlisting for a BIFA for Best British Short; selection for the 27th Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors Showcase in Cannes Lions; and winning ‘Best Short’ prizes. In 2019, CRACKED SCREEN was acquired for permanent preservation in the BFI National Archive as a groundbreaking achievement in British filmmaking; and continues to be exhibited at leading museums, galleries, and cultural institutions worldwide.
Trim followed this with BROKEN NEWS (2019), which premiered at the 63rd BFI London Film Festival. He also directed the BBC’s first ever Instagram-based drama series. Additionally, he was commissioned to direct the opening documentary of Saatchi & Saatchi’s New Directors’ Showcase at Cannes Lions, collaborating with Twitter, Meta and Google.
Trim also works as a Creative Director in Advertising, and has worked on major global brands on culture-defining campaigns. He holds BA and MA degrees in English Literature from University of Oxford and Royal Holloway, University of London. Trim is currently developing his first feature film with the BFI.
