Telling stories with some of the comic industry’s most beloved characters, the DC Showcase animated shorts line offers stirring, mature adventures covering the furthest corners of the DC Universe. Spinning out of the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line, the anthology-style series throws the spotlight not just on the biggest superheroes in DC Universe, but also on characters that may be unfamiliar to the general public in surprising, sometimes genre-defying adventures. In 2010, it kicked off with *The Spectre*, *Jonah Hex*, *Green Arrow*, and *Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam*, plus a special *Catwoman* feature tied to *Batman: Year One*. After a break, the series made a strong comeback in 2019 with titles such as *Sgt. Rock* and *Batman: Death in the Family*.
